Top Screen Replacement Front Panel looks cracked too

Ok here is the deal

I have a Nintendo 2DS XL with a cracked screen

Took it apart to replace the screen with a new one

The front plastic panel or front piece of the 2DS still has glass on the back of it and it is cracked. My question is this glass the front of the old screen and does it need to come off to put the new screen in?

FYI The glass behind the front top plastic is what looks cracked not the plastic itself - wanted to clarify.

Or is it a separate piece that needs to replaced too and if so where do u get it?

Thanks in advance Jamie

Nintendo uses paired LCD and digitzer setups so yes, glued on cracked screens are still cracked screens. Yeet the old part out the door and enjoy the fact that you have made it far enough to get to the screen without breaking anything.
