Why is my lens making noises like cracking when opening and closing?

I accidentally dropped my camera about 2 days ago, and ever since, it wont open all the way to take a picture. It says to power it off, then whe turned on, it makes cracking noises.

by the sound of this, it is possible that the lens is of track. Try some of the tricks from here Most likely you will have to repalces the lens since individual repair parts are most often not available. You can use these guides Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W830 or the attached disassembly manual to work on your camera DSC-W830-Disassembly.pdf
