Why does my beats pill only turn on while plugged in?

Why would the battery be the problem if it continues to work after i've unplugged it? The device works perfectly after its turned on and the battery does hold a charge, the problem seems to be with whatever mechanism is responsible for turning on the device.

Strictyl based on "when I press the on/off button however it doesn’t actually power up unless the device is plugged in." if nothing else, it will give you a known-well starting point for further trouble shooting if necessary. Once you get to that point, take a couple of good pictures of the circuit board. Post thse with your question. I have the same issue. I injected voltage into the battery since it was depleted. Then it started when I had the charger in. I unplugged the charger and then it works. But if I unplug the charger 2/3 times it "kills" the device and it wont turn on with only battery. I have found 2 capacitors near the micro usb that dont give a reading and do not short to ground on one side. I get a voltage across them. I really would like to know the value of these.
