iPhone is not recognized by pc

Every time I connect my iPhone to my windows pc, a popup message appears saying that the device is not recognized, meaning that I can’t do ANYTHING with it on the pc. It doesn’t show up in iTunes nor the file explorer and in device manager it’s shown as unknown device with a yellow exclamation mark next to it (going to the properties tab, it says “a request for the usb device descriptor failed). The iPhone doesn’t even charge when connected to the computer. I’ve tried different cables and different computers, but the error persists. The device is new, and this problem actually occurred for the first time a few months ago, but I was able to fix it using CopyTrans Driver installer. Before, and after that, it was working perfectly. This time however, NOTHING works. Uninstalling and reinstalling the device drivers didn’t work, nor did reinstalling iTunes. Windows troubleshooter doesn’t work either. What can I do? Can someone please help me? It’s very important to me and I would really appreciate it if someone helped.

You already tried a lot of the things I would have suggested to eliminate all non-hardware related issues. My question would be if you used other “original Apple” Lightning cables or just generic ones.

The fact that the phone won’t charge may be indicative of a problem with the charge circuit. That starts with the Lightning Port in the phone and if that doesn’t solve the problem, the Tristar communications IC on the logic board. A repair shop that does board-level troubleshooting should be able to find a solution to this problem.

The phone does charge when plugged into a wall. There are no problems with it whatsoever. The only thing is with the computer where when I connect the phone to it it’s not even recognized and doesn’t charge. This didn’t use to happen. And yes, I’ve tried original Apple cables but they don’t work.

Thanks for the update. In that case, my original suggestion applies...charge port or Tristar.

Replace Tristar is the better option.

While Tristar is most likely the issue, you should always eliminate modular components first before adding heat to a logic board...potentially for nothing. Repair techs don't all have the same skill level and unfortunately, you only find out after the fact. I see many boards that have previous work done on them and they are disaster stories. This could be avoided by simply plugging in a charge port to see if it solves the problem.

I don’t get it. What is tristar? And why should I have to replace it? If that is the case, why does the phone charge normally when connected to a wall plug but not at all when connected to a computer?
