Reassembling the control button ribbon cable

I have a 32 3rd gen touch. Had to disassemble it to fix the back panel. The guide is really helpful except I'm ready to put the logic board back in and noticed that it doesn't tell me how to pop the control button ribbon cable back into its little home. This little cable is located under the battery and originates from the larger logic board part. Does the control flap secure it into the white part?

Pictures from the guide to show you what I'm talking about.

uncrushable, are you talking about step 21 of the above named instruction? If you are then all you have to do is flip the brown clip up after you inserted the cable. The clip will retain the cable in the connector and close the contact. In order to insert the cable , the brown clip will have to be flipped away from the connector end. Just whatever you do, make sure you do not force those clips, the do come of with to much force. Hope this is the information that you are looking for. Good Luck
