Why is the laptop not charging?

Hello all,

So had the laptop for 2 years all is well until I travelled to Indonesia. Laptop is usually put to sleep but didn't turn on all of a sudden.

When I plugged it in, there was no light on the charger and the screen showed nothing (no battery empty or anything)

I left it plugged in for a couple of hours then came back to the red light and a laptop that turns on. The same issue is today and the laptop is not responding. I left it in the electrical socket but no light or anything. Don't know what's wrong and don't want to pay too much for an easy fix.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Indonesia is quite humid so you do need to be careful when running between air conditioned buildings and outside.

What likely has happened is condensation has connected on the colder surfaces of the internal surfaces. To you have an oven the system will fit into? What we are going to try is warm Not cook! your system a bit to try to force the condensation out. Do make sure no one alters the settings while the system is in the oven! Most ovens have a setting call warm which is about 90 f/32 c use a good thermometer to check as we don’t want to go to high here.

You’ll want to pop off the bottom cover so the internals can breathe a bit. See if an hour solves the problem. Allow the system to cool down before you start it up.

For now after you get the system running again you want to shut it down when you are going outside and you’ll want to get a ziplock bag which to place your system sucking out all of the air you can before putting the system into your bag. When you get to where you are going you’ll want to let the system come to temp in the new location before pulling it out of the bag.
