By the looks of the board and what is possible at all, or ever for that computer. If you want a faster ssd you will have to sacrifice Wi-fi connection for as there is only a SATA connection for a maximum for of what 2.5 SSDs can do currently between 500 Mbps to 550 Mbps. This is recommended under Samsung only theirs also have the highest benchmark scores. If you need to install it there is a video online if you search for this pc and upgrades you can do. With that limitation of having no M.2 slots available that is pretty much it.

actually, my acer nitro 5 actually ships with a 256 gb intel m.2 ssd. I don't know if it is the same for all models but for reference my model is Nitro AN515 53. Hope this helps! :)

I have installed a WD SN700 Black 500gig NVMe M.2 drive, while also installing a SATA 3 SSD 500gig HDD in the HDD spot. works great in my Acer nitro 5 AN515-53.

good luck

I would settle with getting a 1tb ssd m.2 by WD or Crucial. As for your hdd you could always slap in another 500gb hdd or a 1tb hdd for your game library. I have a 120gb ssd in my laptop and a 1 tb hdd but i might swap the ssd for a 1tb in the near future.

Have you tried installing a 1TB m.2 ssd in the m.2 bay? I think acer said it was limited to 512GB.
