Does this system support OS X High Sierra?

I actually have to machines a Mid 2009 MBP 15" 2.66 Ghz Intel core 2 duo, and a Mid 2010 MBP 13" 2.4 Ghz Intel core 2 duo, that I am trying to upgrade to OS X High Sierra.

The MBP 15" is running EL Capitan and has 8 GB of ram. The MBP 13" is running Snow Leopard and has 4 GB of ram. I think the 13" has to be upgraded to Mountain Lion before even trying to upgrade, but if the machine is out of date is it even worth it? Are both machines outdated to run the High Sierra platform of OS X? I read about a firmware fix on IFIXIT and am wondering if that is what I need to do to the High Sierra upgrade?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You in advance.

The 2009 model, No.

Minimum entry for High Sierra on a MBP is a Mid-2010 or newer model.

The 2010 model, YES, but you do need to have Mountain Lion installed in order to go to High Sierra.

I would also consider upgrading your memory; while 4GB is within High Sierra's specs (2GB minimum), your computer will be much happier with more.
