Can I replace the screen?

So I'm looking to replace the screen of my macbook, and all of the screen replacements are very expensive. I found one on ebay that is relatively cheap, but the only problem with the screen is that the inverter on it has been cut. If I purchase the screen and a replacement for the inverter, should I be able to replace the screen? The reviews on the product say you cannot use the screen since the inverter is cut but I feel like you should be able to replace it. Thank you!!

Can you point to what you call the inverter looking at this teardown of the display: MacBook Pro Retina Display Teardown. Keep in mind taking the display apart is not easy! As you can see even the skilled IFIXIT team damaged the LCD panel. While this might be a cheaper part if it’s damaged you’ll likely can’t salvage it.

While it’s more expensive I only install full assemblies! MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2013-Mid 2014) Display Assembly

Sorry no real cheaper solution other than finding a parts system which has a good screen.
