Hi, I don't know why your screen wouldn't fully shut off. What does it look like? Like the screen is trying to display things but the back light is off? If you take it into a dark room does the display still give off light?

OK, you didn’t tell me any more info from my comment so I’ll turn it into an answer.

I believe it’s likely that your calculator really has turned off and your lighting conditions make it seem like it hasn’t.

To test if the backlight is still on, simply enter a dark room and see if there’s any light being emitted from the LCD.

To test if the LCD is still displaying things, but the backlight is off, just look very closely at the LCD, if you don’t see anything other than a black screen, then there’s nothing wrong.

If your LCD really is staying on, you can try to RAM reset or reinstall the OS. But I think you’ll end up needing to contact TI.
