Keyboard and trackpad stopped working except the internet recovery!

Have looked into answers here:

  1. Keyboard and trackpad stopped working, it works only in login. Help?
  2. Why is my keyboard/trackpad not working?

Still can't get it to work!

I know its not a hardware issue because when I boot into internet recovery mode by pressing command+option+R The keyboard & trackpad work perfectly in the WiFi selection screen that shows up but won’t work once the recovery utilities are loaded.

Also, if I keep on pressing the Caps Lock key as the system is booting up, it works briefly as I can see it lighting up but then it stops responding and the keyboard/trackpad doesn't work any more during the last part of the boot up process and later.

Both of your links point to MacBook Air systems. Is that what you have? As you've selected an Early 2014 13" MacBook Pro retina model here.

I do have the "MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2015" - the links are just for reference to things I managed to experiment with. Thanks for getting that clarified!

Can you download this gem of an app: CoconutBattery take a screenshot of the main window and paste it here for us to see Adding images to an existing question. I'm thinking your battery is pressing on the keyboard & trackpad cables. This often occurs with worn batteries as they swell up pressing on the connections.

Added battery stats from CoconutBattery. I wonder though, if it were a swollen battery causing the issue - don't think the keyboard/trackpad would work in the internet recovery first screen (where you choose the wifi), no?
