Samsung TV only shows random colors

Greetings everyone,

So last night my family and I were watching TV when it suddenly started to show just random colors. Right before this happened the picture got a little brighter, then really dark. You can still hear the sound coming from the TV, but there isn't any real picture. If I press the home button the colors change, but you can't see the home menu. I tried unplugging the TV for around 10-15 minutes to see if that would fix it. Which it did not. The TV is only 15 months old, and this is the first time its done this. I called Samsung support which was no help and it seems they probably won't warranty it since its been over a year (I remember when TV's had 2-5 year warranties). I have attached a picture of what i'm seeing. The color will change from green, sometimes it will be mixed with other colors, other times it will just be one color. Also the TV is plugged into a surge protector and it was not storming when this happened. Could anyone be of some help? Thank you

PS the tv is a Samsung UN55MU8000FXZA

Here is a picture of it:

Did anyone find how to fix this? Mine is doing same thing

@burgerdoodle exact make or model? It could be a T-con board or main board error.

Nick Schmitz  first try to unplug the set and remove all the inputs. Then hold the power on button for 30-60 sec. Plug only the power cord in and turn the TV on see if that changed anything. You did not tell us if you still have audio and if you can see your TV’s menu. If you cannot, it is most likely the mainboard that has failed. Now for any further checks you would have to remove the back of your TV and take a good close look at all the boards. Check for obvious damage like burned traaces or carred lines etc. as well as leaking domed looking caps. Post some images of what you see so we can see those boards as well.

Okay I'll do that here soon. But to answer your question. I can still hear the audio. If I click the menu button, I can hear it open, and the screen changes colors. But I can't actually see the menu.

sounds like a main board issue but we'll have to see what your boards show.

I was trying to remove the back of the TV and couldn't figure it out. Is there a guide anywhere?

let's see the back of your TV. Some Samsungs use a clip system to hold the back on.

I added the pictures of my TVs main board.

Had to buy a new TV. It's the screen itself.

@puneet00 make and model of your TV? What have you checked? You have identical lines? Could be a mainboard issue or a T-con board issue but very, very unlikely related to an EEPROM.
