Can an iPhone 5a screen be connected to an iPhone 6s

I'm fixing my old iPhone 6s. I shattered the screen and it barely got wet but I think that was enough to stop the display for good. I'm wondering if I can connect my iPhone 5s screen just to see if the display is the problem. Thanks.
