Bluetooth devices not connecting to MacBook Pro

My OS is 10.13.5 I believe that my bluetooth has stop working after the upgrade?? How do I determine if this is a software or hardware problem??

Options

First thing is to open Bluetooth in System Preferences and see what's on the list there. Also, does it report Bluetooth as ON?
