Replacing BMS board and batteries

Hi everyone,

I changed the battery in my JBL Xtreme half a year ago: [SOLVED] Horrible sound after battery replacement.

The speaker was working perfectly up until now, it seems to be very inconcistent with charging. When I opened it up I saw the whole BMS board was oxidized. (From using too much flux)

Update (06/21/2018)

There's a video about this by Abrar Akram that explains it in more detail: LINK

These are 2 compatible boards that can be found on Aliexpress that are very cheap 'HX-2S-D01' and 'HX-2S-A10'

I made a diagram for the wiring, 2 sources confirmed this to be correct.

I will post pictures of the result.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I used the same connection but the batteries are not charging. I am using 2600 mAh batteries and not 3400 mAh ones thats shown in your example. Do i need a different BMS?

Did you let the BMS board cool down? It's a safety mechanism that it doesn't charge when hot. Also read the voltages on the pads maybe the wiring is bad.

I found that one of the parallel battery set was fried. I mistakenly used a 100 ohms resister. I have got new batteries and trying again with 10K resister, it shows charging and all good as i am typng this response.

by

Just curious, how did you find out the batteries were fried?

I tried to replace the original battery with 4 18650's and a new BMS (HX-2S-A10) but no luck.... The speaker says it's charging (one blinking white led). If disconnected, it remains on for a couple of seconds (red led blinking) and shuts itself down.

The batteries (2x2 parallel) read 3,45v each, so that seems to be fine. Not sure why the batteries are not charging.

Any thoughts?

So, does it work? Putting a 10K resistor in that BMS? I have a jbl xtreme with the battery problem, i mean, battery is gone already, so i do have the 18650 packs but i think that the original BMS is dead.. Wondering to buy this one and try…

It worked for me. The reason mine wasn't charging before was because I accidentally used the wrong resistor (thinking it was 10K)

I would like to buy the BMS board, please let me know where I can buy this.

How did you know that your original bms card was burned, or damaged? How did you find out that she no longer charged the batteries?

by

Why do you use a resistor cause I have a jbl flip4 with only 3,7 volts

by

simo-lg. How did you do it? I have not been able to do it.
