Randomly shutting off after screen replacement

We recently performed a screen replacement on an iPad Pro 9.7 and now it's randomly shutting off after less than 5 minutes of use. The battery isn't being recognized by coconutBattery for the Mac either even though the battery is OEM and was not replaced as part of the repair.

We've had two instances of this in the past. Any idea of what we're doing incorrectly?

Unfortunately I don't still have the original screen. The guy who did the tear down threw it out before we were aware of the issue. 3uTools still reports 0% battery health as well.

On the first one we had attempted to repair and ran into this issue on, the issue persisted with the original screen as well. We ended up replacing the tablet due to component availability as the tablet had just come out.

I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue or not and what their end result was. As of right now, I'm wondering if replacing the battery would correct the issue or if this is a board problem that I should have our local microsoldering guy take a look at.

Did you ever figure out the solution to this?

Have you tried re-connecting the original screen (assuming it was at least functional). That would allow you to isolate the replacement screen (or not). As for the battery, you should try 3uTools if you have access to a Windows machine or try iMazing on the Mac.
