My LG TV (49uf680v) recently died screen went black but I still have sound, i was wondering what part is it that causes this problem and where to find a replacement?
Even tho my screen is black its still on its just projecting black in my mind i dont think its a power issue.

it is not a power issue but can be an issue with the power to the backlight LED’s. Two things are the prime suspect and that is the power board and the main board. You do want to go ahead and remove the back from your TV and take a look at the boards for some obvious damage. Post some images of your boards with your question so that we can see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that You will need a multimeter at hand to check a few things out once we know which boards you exaclty have.

There is no obvious damage to the boards capasitors are not bloated and such.

Seems as though that your LCD went bad or possibly the backlight. Fault parts, heating issues, cable shortages could all be causes for your problem.
