What parts do I need to fix a MacBook hinge?

hello,

So believe the hinges on my Macbook are broken as my display can't stand up on its own as seen in the picture.

I am kind of confused on what I would need to replace in order to fix it.

Would I need to get a whole new display assembly or just the frame?

My Macbook is fully functional the display just can't stand up on its own.

Here are some images of the problem.

iFixit doesn't seem to have the hinges available. I would search on Ebay for your model number and see if they have the hinges available. If your problem is the hinges and hinges only; then you would not need to replace the whole display. The Hinges aren't an easy fix, but definitely do-able as long as you exercise patience and organization with the screws.

Ifixit doesn't have a guide for replacing hinges either. You can loosely follow this guide to replace them. MacBook Unibody Model A1278 Display Assembly Replacement
