Microtek Scanmaker 8700 repair

I'm asking about repair for my Microtek ScanMaker 8700. It was a pretty great scanner, but lately it won't cycle on. It has had a sketchy history of starting up, but now it blinks and makes some occasional sounds, but the three lights in front never go full green and it fails to be recognized on the computer. Before I toss it, is there any person who you can recommend to take a look at It?

Here are my specs:

Microtek ScanMaker 8700

42-bit

Max Optical Res. 2400 X 1200 dpi

8.5" X 14" flatbed

35mm, 4X5 and 8X10 film

I use the VueScan app, version 9.0.77 with my Mac. BTW, I have an old MAC too. :(

Mac 2 X 3 GHz Dual-core superdrive OSX 10.6.8

Memory: 8GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

Hi @chapdoc ,

This is not a recommendation but you could try contacting Microtek technical support and ask if they have a repair service or authorized service agent in your area.
