the external audio output jack stopped working. only the internal speakers work. pluging in the headphones does not override the internal speakers. what can i do?

Here’s a link to the ifixit Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids Aux Port Replacement guide, which shows how to access the headphone jack so that it can be replaced.
Here’s a link to a supplier of the replacement part.
It is not a recommendation to use them. It is shown to give an idea of the cost of the part. There are other suppliers online that may suit you better.
