Why does it not turn on

It has been sitting in a box for ever and does not turn on it has no damage on it except the battery door which has found it’s way to becoming a dog toy. I have tried two games, batteries, a rechargeable battery pack, and anything the manual suggests to do. It just doesn’t power on, or light the red power light. It has no sign of corrosion anywhere on the unit.

Since it has been sitting in a box for a while it might need a jumpstart, try leaving the batteries in it for a while it might need time for it to warm up. Here’s a link to purchase a replacement battery cover: https://www.ebay.com/itm/123650266630

Since you have tried two games, maybe you could clean the cartridges with compressed air. Since the red light does not power it on, this means there is something preventing a signal, you’ll have to take it apart as a wire could be sliced or has come loose and needs to be resoldered.
