You may have a bad CMOS battery. Test it, and replace it if you aren't sure it is good.

All modern computers have a CMOS battery. On some Toshibas it is soldered on, making it impossible for the user to replace. But I'm having a really hard time getting information on the CMOS (or "RTC") battery for this particular laptop. You put "P55W" as the model number. Is there another number after that? Because there are a lot of "P55W" models listed on the Toshiba website.

@mrjimphelps rethink this "All modern computers have a CMOS battery". Toshiba's are actually known for no longer having a CMOS battery. The BIOS settings are now stored in non-volatile memory, instead of CMOS RAM. This negates the need for the CMOS battery to remember the settings for the BIOS.

In my opinion, not having a CMOS battery is a poor design. What will happen if you remove your main battery and the AC adapter? Will that reset your BIOS/UEFI settings?

@mrjimphelps nobody on here doubts this. Manufacturers are not in the habit of asking consumers what to do. That is the reason for existence of this website.
