Which motherboard can I upgrade to?

So I was curious, as the enclosure looks a lot like the macbook pro of later years, can I upgrade to any of them? I already use a screen from a 2010 macbook pro in it, so I assumed some motherboards may be compatible? Thanks!

Well..your Mac doesn't go into sleep mode when closig the lid then ;) Unfortunately no A1278 Pro logic board wouldn't fit in the Unibody, mainly because of battery/battery connector/hard drive connector..but they are pretty different and I don't see any chance to fit them.

It actually doesn't. I didn't think it was because of that, but it makes sense now! Too bad that no other motherboard fits, old macs are still pretty expensive sadly. Thanks!

That's because of the magnets aligned in slightly different positions, nothing can be done. The core2duo Pro boards and palmrest would fit with your screen assembly..you might be able to get something with broken screen at an affordable price. Following boards, i5 and i7 would instead have different cables settings too.
