Fading with lines on the LCD is the signal not properly coming from the image control IC on the LCD assembly.

Very likely, either the flex, or the LCD itself is damaged. This could have come from the place you have purchased the parts from (manufacturer defect) or could have happened while fiddling with the part. This is very common for home repair, due to the tiny amound of oressure it takes to cause damage.

There is also a posibility of a loose connection, but it actually far less common than the part being internally damaged.

Any tips on how not too damage a new one please ? Which parts are most delicate? X

the most delicate area are the flex cables of a new screen. never let them stretch. hold the screen at a 90% angle from the phone while handling the new screen, and never go beyond that. this will keep them from stretching.

While connecting a new screen, always make sure the connectors make a clicking noise as they go in, and dont let the connectors bend if you can avoid it.

it could be the connector isnt correctly attached, disconnect the lcd and reattach making sure they clip in properly. remember to disconnect the battery before any screen replacement otherwise you could damage the backlight circuit

Are you talking about the horizontal / vertical line artifacts that appear on the screen?

Chances are it's from using a aftermarket iPhone 5s screen. To fix this issue you will need to either use a Aftermarket SE screen, Original 5S or SE screen.

The lines were horizontal and gradually faded to nothing . I was under the impression it was a genuine iphone SE screen replacement but I followed it step by step ? Xx
