The QiCycle Folding Electric Bike is Xiaomi’s first foray into the world of e-bikes. It has a 250W high-speed motor powered by Panasonic 18650 lithium batteries. The Shimano Nexus 3-speed gear hub in combination with the torque measurement sensor gives you up to 45km bike power on a single charge. It also has a trip computer can connect to your smartphones via their special app and is–of course–foldable.

Can not switch on bike after a few weeks pause

Hi, I have not used my Qicycle for a few weeks. Now it can not be switched on anymore. The battery is fully charged (all LEDs are lit) but the display is dead. Does anyone have an idea where to start debugging? does anyone know the problem? I'm grateful for any hint!

Have you tried removing the battery from it's seat and then putting it back?

Then turn on the trip computer by holding the on/off button for about 3 to 5 seconds.

Do you have experience with a malfunctioning power button? It seems like that is the problem I have. I managaged to turn the display on once, after trying a lot, but now in the menu the button again doesn't respond. The up and down buttons do respond as they should. Should I open the controller to see if I can replace the button?

My Qicycle all instruments are on. Batt is good. Display is good. All lamps work good. But when I hit the pedal, the motor won’t work. Now, it almost 1 year in my room. I went to several e-bike service center. None of them can fix the problem. No parts available in my country. And it seems they are all did not know what happen with my bike. One said about the controller. Another said about the motor. Very confused and make me frustrated. Now, the bike still in other technician. He try to check one by one. Flow of cable, sensor, controller, motor, battery. I just hope he will find the solution and my Qicycle in on the way again to my daily work vehicle.

Yes, even here in the Phil. parts are scarce to find. Only hope is aliexpress. But many sellers have ran out of stock or are not willing to ship. I traced the company, even though its mostly made in China or xiaomi is a Chinese brand; this "qicycle brand" is actually Korean.

I fixed my problem in the end by opening the display/controller thing om the steering bar. Inside a contact was a bit corroded, so by cleaning that it was fixed.
