Why is my hard disc not working on my Television

My Hard disc ; Toshiba External 3.0 USB gives an error each time i want to watch a movie on my samsung television ;it says;

Portable device disconnected. Device Name:External USB 3.0

What could be the problem i have another hard disc seagate type it doesn't show any error when i connect it to my samsung television am able to watch movies

What is the model number of the Toshiba USB 3.0 drive, the Seagate USB drive and the make and model number of your TV?

Hey bud, maybe the drives are formatted differently? Do you know what format they both are?
