connected to wifi but won't load anything!

Hello,

I have an mac air laptop that is windows 8, it's connected to the wifi and there appears to be no problem. When I restart the laptop it will work fine from anywhere between 5 minutes to an hour but eventually it stops loading pages. The network connection says there is no problem, and all other devices in home are connecting fine. When it stops working properly, it will load my Covoco site page as "page took too long to load."

I've tried troubleshooting and looking online for similar issues but nothing has solved my problem thus far!

I have a moderate understanding of laptops and technology but not enough to possibly solve this on my own.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Lets try a few things to see if we can locate whats at fault here

  • When the system fails to load the pages see if restarting the system allows you to regain the connection
  • Download this app: WiFi Scanner so you can see where your router (AP) is. You may want to reconfigure it if other AP's are sitting on top of it. If your router offers a 5.0 GHz connection alter the AP names for your router so you can discriminate between the frequencies (i.e. ACME2-4 & ACME5-0) then set your system to use the one channel that's less crowded.
  • If you find you still have a problem then you likely need a new AirPort card.
