Will the serial number of my MacBook Pro change?

I have two MacBook pros that are the same model. One of them is water damaged and the logic board was affected. If I swapped out the logic boards would the serial numbers also be swapped?

Yes the serial number is stored on the logic board if you want to keep serial number tied programs as much as I hate to say this as your not fixing it yourself take it to a third party repair store they might be able to repair the water damage and if they can't ask them about switching the chip that stores the serial number on it

You'd be much better off to try and repair the main board rather than buying a super expensive replacement. I'd say send it to a place like the one in my bio for repair cost is usually between 199 and 299 with 400 being the max for most board repair specialists. If it is unfixable, then it would be way cheaper for Apple to service it then replacing the board.
