Apple uses its own physical interface on the blade SSD they use so the M.2 drive won't physically fit. Apple also uses its own signaling spec. The M.2 SSD's adapters I've seen used on the MacBook Pro's tend to have lots of CRC errors as they are not well built. So while it will appear to work over time the SSD will wear out more quickly.

Basically, penny-wise, pound-foolish: I understand why people want to use M.2 drives as they are cheaper! But you loose on the back end.

I don't recommend them! I would recommend using OWC's or Transcend custom blade SSD's designed for your system.
