Getting broken phones for repair (cheap?)

Hi! I don't quiet know if this is the right forum for that (if not, please notify me).

I'd like to start repairing iPhones and reselling them on eBay or another platform,

but I have trouble finding phones that would still make a profit (after the repair).

I've seen people talking about getting phones for around 5$ per phone, but that seems way too low in my opinion ... yet the question still exists: How or where can I find phones that still make a profit after repairing them ?

Thanks already.

Another avenue is buying "lots" of phones, as in a large number of devices from the same source. Sometimes large national stores that encourage customers to "upgrade" their devices have tons of these phones and they will sell them in volume.

you can get them cheap enough on ebay depending on the fault and how far you plan to get into repairs, if you mean buying phones that only need a new screen instead of board work then your not going to get them very cheap

True, so you'd suggest fixing worse issues of which people think that they are not easily fixable (or that are actually harder to fix) ?
