What's happening to my phone

So I accidentally bumped my phone (not hard at all) now whenever I turn my phone on it goes to a white screen with black lines and some parts turn a different colour. It looks all pixelated and has loads of lines over it. I was wondering if I could fix it myself or will I have to get my phone repaired? I would enclose a picture but I can't seem to do that so I hope that's a good description so you can help.

Typically, that kind of problem would be resolved by replacing the screen. However, you must keep in mind that this phone has probably been "bumped" many, many times over its lifetime so there is a possibility that the issue could be more serious.

It's fairly straightforward to try the screen replacement yourself, just follow this guide. Take a look at it to see if you are comfortable with the steps. If not, then a repair shop can do that for you.

While not super likely, it's also possible that your display's connection to the logic board has just gotten messed up from the bump. Before buying a new screen, it might be worth following the guide Minho posted to just disconnect and reconnect your original display, and see if that fixes it.
