How long can I wait before damage?

Hello, I am currently in Europe and I spilled a bit of coffee on my MacBook. It was on and plugged in and shut off immediately. I cleaned it and turned it upside down and now it’s drying. I don’t want to turn it on as I’m scared that I’ll cause it damage and I just want to take it to an Apple store so they can clean it however i don’t know if I can do that here in Europe. I get back to the US in eight days. Do you think it’s too long to wait? Wil it get damaged if it stays off until it can get clean?

Answer this question I have this problem too

First Off is not really Off! You really need to disconnect (and remove the battery if you can, here we can't).

Sadly, Apple won't fix liquid damaged systems. This is, if the liquid damage is visible.

Your best bet is to find someone where you are now to at least give it a cleaning internally of any spillage.
