Toaster heats but doesn't stay down.

Hi, I tried to learn a new skill with repairing something so I bought a Magimix Vision Toaster - apparently been dropped. Looked at PCB and then decided to replace control button PCB however it's still not working.

Heating element is fine but just can't get it to stay down.

Answer this question I have this problem too

I have this problem and tried to source a replacement control board. The corporation referred me to a service vendor in California infousa@magimix.com and I haven’t received any response as of yet to my emailed request. KRA Enterprises currently sells these on Amazon so am trying to contact source for repair through them.

Usually, this will mean that there is dirt on the mating surface of the electromagnet, and probably also on the surface of the metal strip with which it interacts. I was able to get a fix by lifting the outer cover of the toaster enough to get a finger in and wipe away the dirt on the two surfaces. Just look at where the lever moves up and down and find where the electromagnet attached near the base of the assembly meets the metal strip (when the lever is pushed down.)

@vierasta when you say "electromagnet attached near the base", are you referring to the solenoid on the circuit board that holds the lever (toast) down?
