My green dim light on my charger?

My Mac book pro mid 2009 version 's charger started mis behaving just of recent

When I plug it to the a supply a dim green light shows on the macsafe head of the charger but when I plug it on the machine the light goes off

If it's connected to the power supply and I touch it with my hands, the dim green light becomes brighter but it goes off when I plug it to the pc...Please help me I really need this machine for school

Have you checked if the cable is not damaged, or that the charging port is clean etc?

I would check the onboard battery tester to see how much charge your battery has. If you can download this app: CoconutBattery take a screenshot of the main window and post it here for us to see Adding images to an existing question That way we can see how the battery looks and the charging logic inside your system.

Not much you can do here other than replace the MagSafe charger. A dim charger LED (Green or Amber) thats not even connected to the system tells me the charger is bad. In fact using it could harm your system!

I do recommend you buy the unit from either an Apple Store or Apple online as there are a lot of fakes that can hurt your system (and you) Lacking safety features, cheap MacBook chargers create big sparks
