Wont charge past 2%

I recently replaced the battery in my otherwise unopened iPhone 6, and since a few days ago it wont charge past 2%... I've tried different chargers and cables, and I cleaned the inside of the lighting connector, but it didn't help.

Has anyone run into a similar issue before, and if so, what helped?

I don't think its the battery, as I replaced it only a few weeks back with a new iFixit replacement battery, but I guess it could have gone bad. Is there any way to check what components need replacing?

I'm grateful for any hints or starting points.

It's either the battery or the charge circuit. If you still have the original battery, I would try that one to see if it charges properly. Or you can get another new or preferably known-good battery to try. If that doesn't solve it, then the problem is likely with the charging circuit.
