There's not much you can do to unlock an iCloud locked device. You will have to get the previous owner to unlock it for you (they can do this remotely). If you bought it through eBay, you may have some recourse with their returns process.

This is the only responsable answer to this problem. If the device that you have bought is locked return the device to the store that you have purchased it from and persue getting your money refunded.

Tommygail This is wrong. There is no easy way to remove the iCloud Lock. Not amount of restoring will remove it or get around it. Does not matter what mode you use either. The phone is basically a brick at this point. Return it or contact the previous owner.

Hello Carlos,

The only successful way to deactivate iCloud lock on a device, is to switch out the logic board. I have successfully done this a couple times. However, the price of a logic board might be more than you paid for the phone and this also deactivates the Touch ID. The home button will still work, however, the phone will not be able to program fingerprints to lock and unlock the device.

If you can find a "for parts" or "used" iPhone, same model that you just purchased, that does not have iCloud lock on it on Ebay, this would be the best option for you price wise.

Hope this helps!

Usually "for parts" means there is a logic board issue. It indicates it is beyond use, and is for parts only, which means there would be damage to the function of the phone, which is controlled by the logic board, meaning the board would be damaged

Replacing the logic board doesn’t deactivate iCloud lock 😂 you’re basically fitting a none iCloud locked board into the phone. The circuit board you remove is still iCloud locked.

This is not deactivating iCloud is a logic board swap, only the buyer or the person whit original invoice of the iPhone can deactivate the lock butt Apple will not do that if it is in loss mode.

Try to find out the owner of the activation locked idevice, provide the Apple ID and password to bypass activation lock on iPhone. Without Apple ID and password, it’s difficult to remove activation lock on idevice,

MY ICLOUD LOCKED phone was UNLOCKED!

I used a paid Unlock Your Apple Device, and it worked. It took the icloud lock off and I was able to register it under my icloud account.

I do not understand how so many so-called “knowledgeable” techs swear there is absolutely no way to bypass the icloud activation lock. There are many services that do it. Do the techs even research the technology out there? I am stunned that these experts have no clue. Even eBay has these services. What is wrong with you guys? Are you just trying to make people buy new phones? Disseminate misinformation? Why? eBay, Amazon, etc., all sell locked devices, and buyers can and do have them unlocked. If a non-tech person like me could find a way to get it unlocked on my own, by searching, then I just don’t understand why the Disinformation regarding this.

Locked devices are bought and sold regularly on various platforms, usually by wholesalers selling trade-ins, but mainly as parts devices for repair shops and refurbishers. Sometimes this is the only way to get Apple original parts and components that cannot be sourced any other way. If you are buying an iCloud Locked device from an individual, it is probably a lost or stolen device.

If you legitimately own your device, Apple will unlock it for you. There is no hardware solution for unlocking said devices; there are no chips to replace, resistors to remove (like older iPads) or anything else that will permanently disable Activation lock.

The only way to unlock a device is via a GSX account, which only Apple has access to. Therefore, if you found someone who sells a software unlock, they are ILLEGALLY using or accessing an Apple GSX account. This "solution" is well-known but not endorsed by the repair community...but folks are certainly free to peruse the web and find such blackhat solutions.

T AI so your phone you had iCloud lock removed, is it yours or is it lost, stolen? This is why there is no LEGAL way to remove it. iCloud lock is apple security to stop unauthorised use of the phone if it’s lost or stolen. The same as FRP on Android.

If it's your phone, enter the Apple ID username and password that was first used to activate it. Your iPhone will open. If you forgot your Apple ID or password, you will need to factory reset it.

There are many online services available to help you remove the iCloud lock from your iPhone without using any tools. You will need provide the site your device details and make a payment.

If you bought a used iPhone and the deivce is iCloud locked, you can contact the previous owner and aks her/him to remotely remove the Apple ID and erase the device. Just go to iCloud official site and sign in with their Apple ID and select Find iPhone. Select All Devices and select the iPhone that is iCloud locked, then choose Erase.
