iPhone wont lock screen while making call

Hi

I had a busted iphone 3GS display and I followed the great guide on ifixit.

Now the iphone is working great expect for one important thing.

When I make a call, the display wont “lock”, So when I put the Iphone up to my ear, my cheek touches the iphone activating the speaker or punching numbers.

I guess that the iphone should have a sensor, that detects the position when a call is made, and putting the display in a locked mode.

How can I fix this?

Thank you very much.

Best regards

Dennis

It is definitely the #3 ribbon. If reseating doesnt work, then replace. Careful not to damage the connector. The ribbons are pretty fragile to bends and kinks. Avoid this.
