How to replace the mode selector dial on a Nikon D7000/D7100 etc.

The mode slelector dial on my Nikon D7100 is damaged and I want to replace it.

Got the parts already through AliExpress, but can't get the dial off.

All videos I’ve seen (on YouTube) point to removing most of the camera body.
