Keyboard and trackpad “not detected” but keyboard backlight works
So I was repairing my MacBook Retina 2016 yesterday and after I changed the screen, I plugged in the keyboard and trackpad cable and started it up and everything worked fine until after a few minutes, the trackpad stopped responding along with the keyboard. The trackpad still gave a haptic click when I pressed it but the cursor wouldn’t move. The keyboard backlight was also on but command+tab did nothing and a screen prompted that no keyboard as well as mouse were present and searched for an external mouse. I grabbed my Bluetooth trackpad which paired and worked perfectly. I pressed the power button on the keyboard and it actually prompted the shutdown window. I shut it off and reconnected the cable but no success. Also, on the logic board, the cable socket’s plastic lever broke off so I’m not sure if it’s stuck in the open position and it requires it to be closed to fully function. The other end of the cable is fine and the cable itself has no damage. Any ideas on what I could do? Thanks!
Is this a good question?
