Why am I getting a Mouse Cursor on the Screen only?

1. New Hard Drive Fixed

2. Switched on Computer Pressing Option Key - It shows the mouse Cursor and nothing else

3. Tried pressing Command+Option+R - Nothing happens (Straight away shows a Folder with a question Mark)

4. Tried pressing Command+R - same result as Point 3

5. Option+R - Same result as Point 3

Need to Install New OS via Internet -- Please help - How do i get New OS or any OS installed on my Empty New HDD

Your model doesn't offer Internet recovery so thats not an option here.

Hi Puneet,

If you have replaced the hard drive, the system cannot find a bootable image, so you get the cursor only.

In order to install the OS you need to create install media, usually a Bootable USB drive or a bootable DVD. Here is a link to accomplish that task direct from apple. I always go with the USB Drive, Much easier to recycle for the next job. Be sure you have at least a 8GB USB available.

@cacws - Dean we have a: Which came first the chicken or the egg? problem here ;-} You need a working system to create the installer drive. And clearly thats not possible with this system.

Is your old drive still working?

If it is we'll need to connect it to your system externally using an adapter like this: Startech 2.5" SATA to USB adapter That way we can leverage it to prep your new drive.
