I am planning to go VOIP. Will my existing phones be capable of this.

Yes it can if you connect the phone's base station to the appropriate port on the modem.

Thanks for the warning bout the power.
Hi ,
I removed it earlier because I didn't want you to feel that I was telling you things you already knew.
If using VOIP be aware that during a power failure your phone won't work. Being a cordless phone it wouldn't have worked anyway. A standard corded phone connected to VOIP won't work either. So it's advisable to have a mobile phone handy, if only for emergency use, during a power outage.
