Can gigabit speeds be turned on with the Snapdragon modem?

even though apple does not support gigabit speeds with the snapdragon modem, the snapdragon is capable. can the functionality be turned on anyway?

Unfortunately not, I think it has been hardware limited. You do actually get slightly faster speeds according to here.

I would have thought that if you could through software, a Jailbreak exploit would have tapped into this.
