Why has my screen gone dodgy!

Block Image

Hi, I haven’t recently dropped or knocked my MacBook or spilt anything on it, yet the screen has gone funny (it has horizontal lines going across and I can see part of the background, and the rest is just white). I thought it may have been a problem with overheating as I left it on for 6 hours today, yet i’ve let it cool down and the screen still looks like this? Does anyone know what the problem may be and any solutions (and costs)? Thankyou so much

Ouch! Well I've got bad news for you ;-{

Something heavy either pressed or bumped your lid right above the MacBook Logo. The LCD screen is fractured into shards which is like a broken window. The only solution here is to replace the full lid assembly while not overly hard in its self the cost of the lid is quite expensive! Here's the IFIXIT guide: Retina MacBook 2017 Display Assembly Replacement and here's the needed part: MacBook 12" Retina (Early 2015-2017) Display Assembly
