problem with touchscreen not working after unplugging and turning on

I've noticed recently that when I run my laptop on battery( or unplugged) and then turn it on the touch screen won't respond to touch anymore. Is there anything I can do to have touchscreen running from startup even if it is unplugged? The touch screen works just fine without the cord if I plug the power cord in, close the lid, then open it again before unplugging. But that is kind of a hassle and it isn't all the time that can plug it in to do so.

Hi,

If you have Win 10 installed try installing the latest Asus Win 10 ATK Package and Smart Gesture drivers.

Take notice of the Notes: near the top of the webpage regarding driver installation.

>>>>>> install the ATK Package drivers first before you install the Smart Gesture drivers <<<<<<

Do not be tempted to update any other drivers at this stage. It may confuse the issue if you run into problems. Solve one problem at a time. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Thank you very much. That did fix it.

It was like this on my previous laptop(same model) too before I accidentally dropped and broke it. I've been ignoring the issue for awhile on that one but since it popped up again on another laptop I'm glad there was a fix for it.

ASUS X200MA is a ClickPad, so it need the ASUS Smart Gesture. Check if there is a ASUS Smart Gesture on your computer. And you can view this article to see why your touchpad screen cannot work and how to fix it: https://windows10skill.com/asus-smart-ge...
