speaker no audio NOT THE BEATS PHILL 1.0 THIS SPEAKER WAS NOT LISTED

Sorry but i couldn't find my device So i just clicked on a random speaker :(.So basically I've had this GoalZero portable speaker for a very long time (I'm not sure exactly when i got it). And it worked great until a few weeks ago, The audio stopped working and wont even make a sound. The only guide i found any where was on how to take it apart, not fix audio( here's the link to the guide in case anyone is wondering, http://www.instructables.com/id/Goal-Zer... ). So my question is, having no prior experience in this sort of work, can somebody help and guide me through a potential repair?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @iamfruity ,

Does it indicate that it is charging at all?

Does it still turn on OK?

Can you still pair it with a host audio source?

Have you tried connecting a stereo audio cable from an audio source, e.g. mobile phone or mp3 player to the speakers 3.5mm aux input to see if audio is heard?

If it doesn't charge is it a battery problem or a charge port problem?

If it doesn't even turn on, is it a battery problem or a On/Off switch problem or something else?

If the audio works with a cable connected but not when using BT then at least most of the speaker is working just not the BT or perhaps it may be the aux input socket that is faulty. (On some systems the BT comes through the socket so that when a cable is plugged in it disconnects the BT and connects the cable.

All these questions are designed to narrow down the problem to help in the repair.

By determining exactly what is and is not happening you know where to start looking for the problem.

Unfortunately if the problem is determined to be in the motherboard it becomes difficult to go much further (unless it is an obvious component fault) as without a schematic diagram locating the fault is problematic and very time consuming and the best solution then is to try and find a replacement motherboard if you can

Yes it does charge, when i plug it in theres a little red light to let me know its charging

Yes it does turn on, theres a blue light that lights up when its on

When i plug it into my iphone however no audio comes out what so ever and its not my phone cause my phones audio works fine with headphones

And my specfic model of speaker is not bluetooth functional, i think...

Hi @iamfruity ,

Have you tried a different stereo audio cable to check if the cable is the problem or tried connecting your existing stereo audio cable to another compatible device to see if it works OK?
