Why does my TV keep going blank but the sound still plays?

Every time I turn my TV on it plays like normal for a couple of minutes and then it goes completely blank (black screen as if it’s turned off) but the sound keep playing like normal. I switch it off and back on and it’s back to normal for a couple of minutes then goes blank again.

I have tried to switch it off at the mains but nothing changes. How do I fix it?

Answer this question I have this problem too

@nataliejf this sounds like you are losing the backlight on your TV. When it goes dark use a flashlight and shine it at an angle against your screen (in a darkened room of course). If you can still make out silhouettes etc. then it is your backlight. Could be the power board as well as the backlight array itself. If you cannot then it is possible that this is caused by a bad t-con board etc. Post some images of all of your boards with your question, use this guide for that Adding images to an existing question. I have found that if my tv is near a heat source this will happen time after time . As a guess I removed the tv from the heat source, and then it works just fine.
