Can someone please help?

I was playing a game on my Xbox 360 S and all of a sudden it glitched and froze. I shut it off then turned it back on, and now it shows green for a few seconds, then a solid red dot of death, and doesn't even switch to the actual console, like it just stays on the blank TV screen. I notice when I pick it up there sounds like a small rattling part. I'm afraid I overheated it and it melted a part loose? I've already confirmed it isn't something with my power supply, and I also don't have a warranty, so what can I do to fix it?

Hi @tsmith0628 ,

For starters, here is a link to the ifixit Xbox 360 S guides.

These will help you to gain access to the Xbox so that you can determine what is making the rattling sound and then you can perhaps go on from there to find out what's wrong.

Hi @jayeff

After researching a bit I've determined the rattling noise is normal. However we've tried taking it apart, removing the fan and resetting the heatsink just tonight, and it still doesn't work. If you have any other help, that would be great. :D
