My iphone 7 stopped being able to charge after an iphone charging cable broke off. I replaced the lightening port and now the phone cycles on and off just showing the apple logo.

Could you have damaged the battery at all? Replacing the charge port shouldn't make it boot loop

The only interaction I had with the battery was to disconnect the plug at the beginning of the process.

I tried to restore and update the phone using itunes. It goes through the process, I see the progress bar, and itunes says it was successful and that the phone will restart. The phone then immediately starts the cycling again with the apple logo.
