The phone will not read the SIM card, but everything else works

Is it that the sim port needs to be cleaned? is there a software solution?

It does run the startup graphic, but the it notes no SIM card

So when you insert the SIM Card it does say, "Sim card installed restarting phone" or however it goes?

Have you proved that the SIM card works in another known working network compatible phone?

Does a different known working network compatible SIM card work in your phone?

Basically swap the SIM cards between two same network phones, yours and another phone, and check what works where.

Did it work previously or is this a new phone? If a new phone, did you buy it overseas?
