My 10yr old Vizio has picture but no sound.
When you turn on the television there's sound but it immediately goes away after less than a minute.

Antonia Davis McFadden double check all of your settings. If those are okay you are most likely looking at either a bad speaker of a bad audio amp IC on your mainboard. Try to connect another speaker and see if that works. If not then it is most likely the audio amp. Of course you can also try some headphones and see if those work. Let us know what model your TV is so that we can try to assist you further.
